Comments:
This is the best bike I've ever ridden! Wheelie machine... Funny how little 916 owners will talk to you when you take them on the onramp! Its been said that the TL gets lousy milage. Mine gets around 44 MPG. Thats only 3 mpg less than my buddy's stock ZX-6! Love this bike...

Comments:
Love it, the thing goes like s**t off a shovel and just seems to keep getting faster. Doesn't feel as planted at 120 mph as my Blade used to though

Experience: 15
Bikes Owned: 5
Accessories: Tank bag, seat bag, Yosh RS3 slip on's, power commander
Modifications: changed rear sprocket to 42
Problems: usual stumbles cured by latest recall. RC3's brought back a little of them. Clutch slip seems to be cured by thrashing the bike, it hates to be cruised.Clutch slip is back big time. Suzuki is supposed to be close to a cure. I hope so.
Comments:
Planning gearing changes, (42 rear ?) power commander. Got the 42. Effortless 2nd gear power wheelies. Apperantly the 16 front eats swingarms. Power commander cured all stumbles and added some midrange. Bike is so awsome. Still waiting for clutch fix.

Problems: February 98 started using again after winter break, running very cold, oil level rising, oil mist showing around cluch cover joint. Changed oil, booked in for 7500 mile service and new ECM, which includes new thermostat because bikes run too cold, also dealer to sort out oil leak. By the time the service came round oil leak was quite serious right boot getting covered. Dealer changed gasket ECM etc, went for a run at the weekend, oil everywhere after a few miles, returned home took off cover placed on surface plate measured gaps in some places distortion exceeded 0.50mm(cover is nylon or simmilar moulding) steel inserts in cover for bolts move so not clamping cover. Reworked cover to reduce gaps and refitted, no leaks, Suzuki to replace with cover from "W" model (now done) better design has plastic bushes which are "headed" so clamp cover better. Engine seems noisy, can hear wizzing noise from clutch. Goes like stink handling brilliant, used every day for travel to work, runs hotter now, slight glitch in throttle at 2800-3000rpm but runs better above 3000rpm in traffic.
Comments:
Purchased 20/09/97 ex test bike Suzuki GB I wanted one after seeing it at the bike show N.E.C. last year now thanks to Sue I,ve got one BRILLIANT Suzuki technician changes oil every 1000 miles don't use fully synthetic oil such as Mobile 1 with friction inhibitors the clutch doesn't like it recomends Castrol semi synthetic. P.S. They're going to keep making this model as well as the new one.UPDATE RE FUEL IN OIL appears to be due to cold running, sensors for coolant temp. and air temp. tell system to inject more fuel when running cold hence hotter running stat fitted when replacing ECM.

Last Updated : 24th May 1998
Location: n/a -- Berkshire, England
Accessories: - Chaintec electronic chain oiler - Flush mounting carbon fibre indicators on front
Modifications: - Removed warning stickers - Softened suspension settings, especially rear, to reduce possibility of tank slapper - Replaced exhausts with some decent race cans - Renegade ... a UK make. Excellent sound ! - Suzuki steering damper fitted - Suzuki updated ECU fitted ... much smoother ride now
Problems: - I too experience 'stumbles' at constant throttle, in 3-4k region. These completely gone with new ECU. - Had one violent headshake (not quite a tank slapper), accelerating hard in straight line, approx 60mph. This was before fitting Suzuki damper, fine since then.

Mine's a "97 bought new in 5/98. I'm still in the break-in period, so I don't have much feed- back yet, but so far, it's great! I've been riding a "86 GSXR-750 for 5 years, so this bike is pure heaven.
